SodaStream introduces the World’s First Sparkling Water Glass!

When an invite from SodaStream appeared in my inbox to attend a bespoke water tasting (yes, you read that right!) to mark the launch of the world’s first sparkling water glass (you read that right too!) I was intrigued. Immediately I shelved my plans for a quiet evening in to reset on my first day back from holidaying in Italy. After all, is there any better way to recharge the body than with the very element we are on average 60% composed of?

“Still or Sparkling?” Often the first, and could possibly be the most universally asked question during any dining experience. My preference has always been the latter… There’s something about the bubbles dancing on my tongue that makes me feel very present. And whilst its alcoholic competitor, wine, has a dedicated variety of glass choices to enhance the flavour profiles and to aid an enjoyable drinking experience, a humble tumbler of H20, which too comes with complex flavour profiles (if you think ‘water is just water‘ a bespoke tasting will show you otherwise), gets what exactly? Whichever receptacle happens to be around.

Well, sparkling water lovers of the world can now rejoice! SodaStream has unveiled the ultimate sparkling water glass created in partnership with one of the UK’s preeminent water sommeliers Doran Binder aka the Bearded Water Sommelier, and designed and hand blown by expert glass artist Elliot Walker (winner of Season Two of Netflix’s hit series Blown Away).

As a fan of the bubbled water, ‘acqua frizzante‘ is the one item on the drinks menu I’ve perfected pronouncing from the countless times saying it to a waiter over the summer, I’m in agreement that it’s high time the decadent sparkling water received a glass dedicated to its many charms… if Water is Life, I say add Sparkle to it!
