
Placing Soho firmly on the Around the World in 80 Days map, the brand new experiential bar, Mr Fogg’s Pawnbrokers officially opened its doors on London’s Dean Street (at the corner of Romilly Street) on 22nd February as the latest addition to the Mr Fogg’s family and the first in Soho, taking inspiration from Victoria pawnbrokers through themed interiors and drinks.
Indulge in the mythical world of Phileas Fogg’s wayward half-brother Frank who takes the helm of this adventurous new cocktail bar at 50 Dean Street. Following Phileas’ new found fame, Frank has launched a pawnbrokers to capitalise on the family name and newly acquired artefacts from around the world. Inspired by the rich history of Soho and Victorian era pawn shops, the eighth member of the Mr Fogg’s family will showcase unique and eclectic cocktails served in inventive vessels from ‘Ming’ vases to jewellery boxes.

Fool’s Gold
Peanut butter fat-washed with Dewar’s 12yr Scotch whisky, Martini Riserva Speciale Ambrato vermouth, Boulard Grand Solage Pays d’Auge calvados, chestnut syrup and vanilla bitter. Served in a jewellery box
The Scales of Justice
Dewar’s 8yr Ilegal Smooth Scotch whisky, Noilly Prat Dry vermouth, Drambuie Scotch whisky liqueur, Montenegro Amaro, crème de cacao brown liqueur, saffron and chocolate bitters. Served on an antique scale.
The Maghreb
Bacardi Carta Blanca rum, Italicus bergamot liqueur, star anise honey water, fresh mint, fresh lemon juice, absinthe and Peychaud’s Bitters. Served in a tea set.
Priceless Heirloom
Bombay Sapphire gin, Essentiae lemon verbena liqueur, raspberry shrub, lime juice, topped with Franklin & Sons rose lemonade. Served in a ming style vase.
These will be joined by classic cocktails that are available at all Mr Fogg’s including The Passepartout with Hendrick’s gin, fresh cucumber, fresh lemon juice, sugar, egg white and black pepper and Perfect Timing combining Patrón Silver tequila, Cointreau orange liqueur, pink grapefruit juice, fresh lime juice and chipotle chilli-infused hibiscus syrup.
Menus are be printed in minuscule font and accompanied by a jewellers loupe, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the valuation techniques of 19th century pawnbroking. The exterior features the authentic pawn shop insignia and a large bay window, showcasing wares for sale, which will change seasonally.
