Has the Ink Dried Up? What’s Next for My Soho Times Print Magazine | My Soho Times

Print is Dead. The notion of the print media’s demise is a frequently echoed sentiment. And to that I say; Print ain’t dead – yet!

As the founder and editor of an independent publication, I recognise the inherent value of physical publications, particularly one as localised as ours, dedicated to Soho and the West End. Despite having produced more than 12 editions since 2019, the question I’ve feared to acknowledge arise more potent than ever: Do I cease production of our FREE quarterly print magazine, or is there glimmer of hope for an Autumn & Winter print edition in the upcoming months?… I’d like to think that the glass is still half full!

Our plans to keep the ink flowing

This Autumn / Winter will mark four years since I launched My Soho Times magazine; a FREE independent publication showcasing lifestyle, brands, and people across central London. Unfortunately with budget cuts across sectors, it’s been no easy feat to run this venture as a print alone, so we evolved into offering over services such as events, venue finding, PR & Marketing, and social media content creation.

I’ve also had to think up other strategies that offer great value in order to continue running a print mag. One such strategy is the Partnership PR package specifically tailored for businesses as well as PR and Marketing professionals. For a set quarterly fee we publish their seasonal campaigns, curate social media content, coordinate influencer visits, provide one Full-Page advertisement in our print magazine per quarter, and circulate their news campaigns in our Monthly Newsletter, among other advantages.

And if, like my current dating scene, it’s too much of an ask to make a partnership commitment, one-off advertising is still available (but let’s face it, long term commitment is what I’m after)!

So, What’s Next For My Soho Times?…

Autumn 2023 will mark 20 yrs of living in Soho, but like I always say – I only really became part of Soho when I launched MST and the rebirth as an integral part of my community began.

However as things currently stand, our beloved print magazine won’t make it to the end of the year if we don’t get the financial support we need to be able to showcase our city, brands, SMEs and culture we love. If you’re a local business, or a business with an audience in Central London, consider supporting this female-led, black-owned publication run by someone who’s passionate about showcasing her local community and the SMEs in one of the most dynamic corners of the world!

We’re offering a 20% early bird discount on all advertising and partnership packages for our Autumn + Winter issue… Hurry, ends 1st September!

Do we have your support?
