Taro celebrates 24 years of authentic Japanese Cuisine in London with a limited edition Set Menu | My Soho Times

Taro – the acclaimed Japanese restaurant group – is celebrating its 24th milestone anniversary by offering a special 3-course set menu priced at £30 per person.

Experience the authentic flavours of Japanese cuisine with the limited edition birthday menu from 5th to 30th September. Indulge in a selection of traditional dishes carefully crafted with fresh ingredients. Choose from tantalising options such as Takayoki, a delightful creation of deep-fried octopus balls served with authentic Japanese tonkotsu sauce. Alternatively, savour the succulent Tofu Steak, the crispy Tori Karaage, or the irresistible gyoza.

The party continues with an incredible selection of bento boxes that cater to all dietary requirements. And as the perfect finale, you can choose between green tea ice cream or mochi ice cream to satisfy your sweet tooth.

This exclusive menu will be available across all six Taro restaurants located in London: Soho, Walthamstow, Pimlico, Balham, Kennington, and Finchley until 30th September.

The history of Taro

In 1979, Mr Taro embarked on a journey to London, driven by a vision of introducing and popularising authentic Japanese cuisine and culture in the capital.

With unwavering determination, Mr Taro inaugurated the inaugural Taro restaurant on Brewer Street in 1999, marking the commencement of his mission. Witnessing three years of remarkable achievements, he extended his culinary empire in 2002 with the establishment of a second branch on Old Compton Street (relocated to Balham). This was followed by the unveiling of a third restaurant in Kennington, and most recently, in 2021, the grand opening of a fourth establishment in Finchley Central. In December 2022, Mr Taro set a new milestone with the launch of the fifth and latest addition in Pimlico. This orchestrated expansion has solidified his presence and contributed to the flourishing tapestry of Japanese gastronomy within the vibrant city of London.

Taro is the place to be for affordable and humble dishes that will transport your taste buds to the heart of Japan.
