Celebrate Sake Day throughout October with Ramen Yokocho’s limited-edition 3-course Sake Pairing Menu | My Soho Times

In celebration of Sake Day, Ramen Yokocho has introduced a special three-course menu in collaboration with Gekkeikan Sake, available at both of their central London locations. Our contributors @itziarmartos and @my60.40foodjourney headed down to for a first-hand experience of this limited-edition menu…

Sake Day, observed on the 1st of October each year, is known as “Nihonshu no Hi” in Japan. It is a day dedicated to appreciating and savouring sake, the refined Japanese rice wine. Honouring this tradition, Ramen Yokocho aims to transport its patrons to the vibrant atmosphere of 1970s Tokyo. The restaurant’s interiors are adorned with colourful lanterns and Maneki Neko figurines, evoking a sense of nostalgia. Guests have the opportunity to indulge in delectable retro ramen and flavoursome street food selections, all skillfully paired with Gekkeikan sake. This unique dining experience has been expertly crafted by Hiroshi Kumagami, a seasoned sake sommelier from the esteemed Japan Centre.

Gekkeikan Sake

Introducing Gekkeikan as a renowned sake producer with a rich history dating back to 1637, Gekkeikan established itself as a symbol of quality and tradition in the world of Japanese rice wine. Located in the Fushimi region of Kyoto, Gekkeikan has perfected the art of sake brewing over centuries, blending time-honoured techniques with modern innovation. Their diverse range of sake offerings caters to both traditional enthusiasts and contemporary tastes alike, making Gekkeikan a name synonymous with exceptional sake craftsmanship worldwide.
