Artist Spotlight:

Catarina Diaz

I’m particularly excited about this new series “Eternal”, which delves into the realms of identity, upbringing, and the deep-rooted connection we have with our past. Having been born in Africa, my early years were filled with vibrant and vivid memories that continue to shape me as an artist. I am fascinated by the way our identities are influenced by our origins, the people we share memories with, and our connection to our past, ultimately molding the individuals we become. This new series beautifully encapsulates these traces, both seen and unseen, as the feminine figure seamlessly blends into a lush landscape, surrounded by symbols of life and fertility. She is intertwined with her history while simultaneously gazing towards the future, acting as a bridge between the two realms.”

Angel London

Another acclaimed artist exhibiting at FLUX is Angel London.

I’m low-key working on a collection of new pieces. The main one is an Asian traditional / spiritual inspired painting, which tells a story of my daughter becoming a goddess of mercy and compassion in a crazy world. The others pieces are Disney inspired originals and a sculpture.”

Collaboration

Outside of FLUX, both artists have joined forces to collaborate on exclusive art works for the highly anticipated independent film Gods of Their Own Religion, premiering at CineWorld Leicester Square on Thursday 23rd November.

I’m presenting a mixed media piece exploring the fusion between new materials and techniques and an antique rococo soul, inspired by my collaboration with visionary film Naeem Mahmood at the release of his film “Gods of Their Own Religion” and the artist Angel London.” Catarina shared.

With live music, hosted by fetish cabaret star Marnie Scarlet, and performances by drag legend Pretentious Dross, the FLUX opening night is going to be one to remember! Mark your calendars for the event, taking place from the 7th to the 10th of December 2023.
