NailKind makes a splash this summer with the launch of their latest collection, Sea of Love, capturing the serene allure of the ocean. This exciting release introduces four captivating shades crafted from a vegan and cruelty-free formula. Beauty writer Julia Ferrari shares her thoughts…
To celebrate summer, Danish nail polish brand Nailkind have launched a new collection of four ocean-inspired shades called Sea of Love. Their alternative yet ultra-wearable shades always make such a great first impression. But beyond their colour palette, it’s their multi-award winning formula that keeps me coming back for more: vegan and cruelty-free, NailKind uses up to 85% natural and plant-based ingredients. Nail enamel formulas have traditionally included ingredients such as ‘pearl essence’ derived from fish scales, carmine made from boiled and crushed beetles, or even oleic acid, a thickener derived from animal fat. Not only do NailKind stay clear of animal-derived ingredients, where possible they also swap chemicals for plant-based alternatives such as sugar cane, corn, cotton and maize, for formulas that are less likely to damage, dry and weaken your nails. The result is the best of both worlds for us: low-chemical lacquers that deliver vibrant and innovative long-lasting shades. Inspired by the ocean, their Sea of Love collection offers three shimmery pastel shades reminiscent of the soft shimmer of sunlit waves, as well as one rich deep ocean turquoise.

Nailkind Nail Polish in Moonlight Swim
The name says it all: a silver shimmery shade that works throughout the year, going from moonlit beach swims to crystallised snowflakes, this shade can adapt to all seasons. It’s the first time I’ve tried NailKind’s pearlescent shades, and with these translucent formulas you do need to apply at least a couple of coats for the colour, rather than just the finish, to come through. RRP: £8.95
Nailkind Nail Polish in Ocean Dip
A baby blue shimmer, this reminds me of fresh blue skies with big puffs of white cloud, rather than the sea itself. Easy to apply, quick drying and long wearing, I always finish off with a clear top coat to ensure maximum wear with minimal touching up throughout the week. RRP: £8.95
Nailkind Nail Polish in Oyster Pearl
This one wears its name well: nails look like pink-tinted pearls that catch the summer rays. Oyster Pearl works well worn alone or combined with Moonlight Swim for a very subtle playful touch. RRP: £8.95
Nailkind Nail Polish in Bali Reef
My favourite in the Sea of Love collection. This is what NailKind do so well: their formulas may be gentle to nail beds, but they pack a serious pigment punch. This turquoise is so unapologetically bright, it’s almost neon. Best worn with confidence and a tan. RRP: £8.95
