David Michael Tatler, founder of DMT Swimming

I’m Dave, the proud founder of ‘DMT Swimming,’ a bespoke swim school in the heart of Central London. I first moved to London in June 2011 with a dream of starting an adult coaching business. After many, many months of effort, I was thrilled to finally launch my swim school on 12th December 2012, right here in my beloved Soho!

Today, we are proud to stand as a close-knit team of four talented coaches, dedicated to providing personalised and exhilarating swim lessons for individuals of all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re a complete newbie, eager to dive into the water, or a seasoned triathlete gearing up for your first Ironman, we’re absolutely the ideal school for you!

We offer private lessons, small group sessions, adult group classes, children’s group lessons, and our popular SwimFit classes. Our lessons run almost daily at Marshall Street Leisure Centre and the Central YMCA in Central London.

So, why swim?…

Swimming is one of the best forms of exercise for both body and mind. It’s a full-body workout that enhances cardiovascular health, builds muscle strength, and improves flexibility. Swimming also presents an excellent way to relieve stress, offering a sense of tranquility that’s hard to find elsewhere. What’s more, it’s a low-impact exercise, suitable for almost everyone, regardless of age or fitness level.

Here are just a few of the many health benefits of swimming:

  • Calorie burning: A full-body workout that can burn up to 500-700 calories per hour.
  • Heart health: Strengthens your cardiovascular system, reducing blood pressure and the risk of heart disease.
  • Mental well-being: Swimming releases endorphins, improving mood and alleviating symptoms of depression and anxiety.
  • Stress relief: The rhythmic movements and calming effect of the water help ease daily stress.
  • Joint health: Swimming is low-impact, making it perfect for those with joint issues or arthritis.

With all these incredible benefits, why not come and try a lesson with us? Whatever your goals may be – whether you’re looking to improve your physical health, gain a new skill, or simply enjoy some time in the water, swimming is a fantastic choice!  I’m confident that you’ll love your experience with DMT Swimming, so join us at DMT Swimming and embark on your swimming journey today.
