Let’s do Lunch: A Taste of Tattu with author and plus-size fashion content creator Stephanie Yeboah | My Soho Times

Join editor, Kai Lutterodt, aka The Soho Girl, as she hosts another captivating date for the Let’s Do Lunch series. In this episode, she dines at Tattu with her special guest, Stephanie Yeboah, an influential British-Ghanaian freelance writer, plus-size content creator, and author.

I arrived at Tattu a few minutes prior to our scheduled lunch meeting time, as a responsible host should, right? My lunch guest is Stephanie Yeboah, a trailblazing creative I was fortunate enough to persuade for an interview. I had been following Stephanie on the ‘gram, and our paths eventually crossed in person at a fashion event in Mayfair. Her feed epitomises ‘lifestyle‘; a culmination of well-curated content showcasing fashion, travel shoots, and general everyday tips. I was excited for this lunch date not only because it provided the perfect opportunity to engage in a tête-à-tête with Stephanie, a vocal advocate for plus-size representation, but also the chance to relish the gastronomic delights of Tattu, an upscale Chinese restaurant situated on the rooftop of Outernet.

Soon after my arrival, Stephanie gracefully entered the premises, wearing a casual spaghetti strap black dress complemented by a white blouse. She exuded effortless charm. Her afro hairstyle gracefully framed her face, reflecting her bold self-assuredness and confidence. Our table was positioned under Tattu’s signature cherry blossom tree at the heart of the restaurant. I observed the sunlight filtering through the leaves, creating a playful dance of golden shadows on Stephanie’s face. I tried to capture this on camera as part of my reel, but of course, the image failed to convey the true beauty of the scene. It looked much better IRL (in real life) than on camera.

We swiftly moved beyond the formalities, engaging in candid conversation as if we were long-time friends, delving into various topics ranging from fashion, relationships, travel, and the challenges faced by creatives in the contemporary world. However, it was Stephanie’s recent book announcement that took centre stage for my Let’s Do Lunch interview, which took place amidst the backdrop of delicious dishes and impeccable service.

I have a super exciting project, my brand new book Big Chaotic Energy. It is my first fiction book and it features a plus-size black protagonist which I’m really excited about because we don’t see enough black fat women being loved on in literature.
