The Private View: Frieze Art Fair Launch Ozwald Boateng x Efie Gallery | My Soho Times

Frieze London kicked off last night with a private view of the exciting collaboration between Ozwald Boateng and Dubai-based Efie Gallery, marking a vibrant injection of African artistry in the heart of London’s West End. This partnership not only showcases exceptional talent but also fosters a rich dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary artistic expression.

The mixed-media exhibition presents three generations of modern and contemporary African art, set against the backdrop of the esteemed Savile Row tailoring by British-Ghanaian Ozwald Boateng, renowned for his innovative fusion of visual art and fashion. This exhibit features prominent artists, including Abdoulaye Konaté, J.K., Bruce-Vanderpuije, and Maggie Otieno, each contributing their unique voices and perspectives to this significant artistic dialogue.

Attending this prestigious event with our editor, Kai Lutterodt, was illustrious Soho artist and style icon, George Skeggs, affectionately known as Soho George, alongside content creator Samuel Atunse outandaboutlondon_, and Kwaku, Kai’s father who’s a historical musicologist.

The drinks on the night we provided by Hoxton Spirits, accompanied by music from DJ duo REMIXIA.
