Gok Wan’s Dog-friendly Places in the West End

“We always feel like we’ve found the end of the rainbow when we walk into a pub or restaurant and they say ‘No (as in Yes) – we take dogs!'”

Gok Wan shares some of his favourite dog-friendly places in the West End

During our interview with our Winter cover star Gok Wan MBE; fashion stylist, presenter, DJ, chef and author, we asked about his favourite places to take his little Frenchie, Dolly Albertine Dishcloth Wan….

“We’ve scoured Soho because I tend not to leave W1 / West End. It’s my manor, my stomping ground… I get a nosebleed if I go anywhere else.” Gok shared.

“We have a ‘doggy-map’; The Hoxton, Holborn now lets dogs in. It’s a great place for brunch. I’ll take the laptop and do some work. And then we have got The Crown & Two Chairmen up on Dean Street – great Sunday lunch place. Old Compton Brasserie is also great – they take dogs the whole time so if you want cocktails you can do there. If you want to want to go for a swanky meal, but you still have the dog with you then I’d go to L’escargot – I think there’s private members club so you’re ok with a dog – just about. And then you’ve got Bills in Covent Garden – the only Bills in the whole group that let dogs in.

We’re quite lucky in this area now, but it’s quite a new thing. For a long time everywhere was anti-dog.”

We’re here for the change – let the dogs out!
