As someone who lives in the United States, I am surrounded by burgers of all kinds. Whether it be big or small, sweet or tangy, spicy, or juicy – I have seen them all!
Am I really a “burger” person? No. But do I crave them once in while? Yes! After being away from home for so long now, I just had to eat something that reminded of the United States…
Therefore, when I heard about Honest Burgers’ June special – the New Orleans, I had to give it a try as I am a big fan of Southern American cooking. Consisting of buttermilk chicken thigh, candied bacon, American cheese, ‘chow chow’ green tomato relish, lettuce, Bull’s-Eye Louisiana Chipotle hot sauce, and ranch mayo, accompanied by rosemary salted chips.
Within my first bite, I could taste a hint of sweet and sour from the ‘chow chow’ green tomato relish which merged beautifully with the spicy Chipotle hot sauce. The combination of the sweet yet salty bacon and the crispy buttermilk chicken thigh was altogether mouthwatering. The burger worked very well with the luscious rosemary salted chips. It left me with the right amount of satisfaction, all for just £14!
I definitely think that The Garden of Eva’s ‘chow chow’ sauce was a key ingredient to the New Orleans Special as it gave that tanginess to the burger that it needed.
This was honestly, no pun intended, a great experience and I am not disappointed with my first burger in London! I really recommend it to everyone to try the special before it ends on July 4th. I will definitely go back myself for another round!
