Soho is renowned for its vibrant coffee shops, each offering its own unique charm and character. During UK Coffee Week (16 – 22 October), there is no better place to indulge in a flavourful cup of coffee than the vibrant streets of Soho. Whether you’re a coffee connoisseur or simply looking for a cosy spot to people-watch, the coffee shops in Soho are sure to satisfy your caffeine cravings and provide a memorable experience! Here are a few of our favourites…

First on our list is Bar Italia, a true icon of Soho. This legendary Italian café has been serving up coffees since 1949. Its retro décor and vintage espresso machines transport visitors back in time, creating an atmosphere that is both charming and inviting. A table outside offers the best people-watching spot in all of Soho (you might come across some local characters)! Even after decades, Bar Italia continues to be a beloved haunt for locals and visitors alike, making it a true institution in Soho’s coffee scene. (21 Frith Street, Soho London, W1D 4RN).

But Soho’s coffee landscape isn’t all about the past. My Place Soho, located on Berwick Street, is a more contemporary local favourite, where the staff know the regulars on a first-name basis. Whether you opt for a classic cappuccino or indulge in an espresso martini, My Place Soho is sure to impress even the most discerning coffee connoisseur. (21 Berwick Street, Soho W1F 0PZ).
Also in the vicinity is Flat White. This popular coffee shop on Berwick Street is famous for its namesake drink, the flat white. Sip on this perfectly balanced blend of espresso and velvety micro-foamed milk while immersing yourself in the bustling Soho vibe.

Hidden away on Smith’s Court, you’ll find the charming Hideaway Coffee. As the name suggests, this coffee shop provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of Soho’s busy streets. Tucked behind an unassuming facade, Hideaway transports you to a peaceful oasis where time seems to slow down, inviting you to sit back, relax, and savour each sip. One of the best-kept coffee secrets in Soho! (7 Smith’s Court. London W1D 7DP)
Not so much of a secret is Algerian Coffee Stores. This historic coffee shop has been around since 1887, offering an extensive selection of coffee beans from around the world. As a Soho heritage business, it comes with real history, and you can still get the cheapest coffee in town at under £2! (52 Old Compton Street, Soho W1D 4QE)

The cool guys on the coffee scene have to be Café Leon Dore. The cafe holds an air of exclusivity. There’s always a buzz of stylish-looking young people at the door… and we hear the coffee is good.
If you’re in the mood for a delicious New York-style bagel and a great cup of coffee, B Bagel Bakery on the corner of Old Compton Street and Wardour Street is the place to go. They serve up freshly baked bagels with a selection of fillings, along with a variety of coffee options to complement your meal. It’s a cozy spot for a quick bite in between exploring Soho’s vibrant streets. (54 Wardour Street, London W1D 4JF).

Newer additions to the Soho coffee scene are The Colombian Coffee Company – still under the radar – perfect for those seeking Colombian speciality coffee (22 Greek Street, Soho W1D 4DY), Kozzee Soho – a great space to grab a coffee and work from. They pride themselves on their brunch and desserts too (193 Wardour Street, Soho W1F 8ZF). And Dunkin’ Doughnuts, who’ve just opened their flagship store on Wardour Street last month.

If brunch is what you’re after, you can’t miss Toi & Moi Café – no literally, the café’s floral façade screams ‘Come visit me!’ The menu ranges from Full English Breakfast to American-style pancakes! (38 Berwick St, London W1F 8RT)

So, why not make Soho your go-to destination for coffee exploration? With its captivating history, diverse range of coffee shops, and devotion to the art of coffee-making, this neighbourhood is a haven for coffee lovers from all walks of life.
