London Escape: Bicester Village at Christmas with Mahi Sarna | My Soho Times

Actress, model and influencer, Mahi Sarna, shares highlights from her visit to the designer outlet village for a festive day out of London with My Soho Times

What drew you to Bicester Village?

I’ve visited Bicester Village once before, and I absolutely loved it. It’s a great escape away from London, and the surroundings are just so lovely. To be invited to visit during the festive period was something I found really exciting.

How was the journey from Central London?

The journey was very smooth and comfortable, as it’s literally a straight train from Marylebone and we arrived in about an hour.

Which are some of your favourite shops?

I loved visiting North Face to see the new puffers as it’s absolutely freezing right now! I also love Benefit because they have a wonderful collection of make-up. Superdry is also amazing especially as I’m an ambassador. It’s always great working with them and wearing their autumn/ Winter collection.

How was your overall experience?

Overall I had an amazing day. There isn’t one thing, in particular, I would prioritise. It’s a full day out of London, so definitely bear in mind that you would need a few hours to shop around and also sit down to eat. Wrap up warm as it’s is outdoors, and it’s winter so it is super cold. Most importantly and have a wonderful day out of London… treat yourself!

Renowned Italian restaurant Cecconi’s has chosen Bicester Village as its landmark to open its first restaurant outside of London within the UK. Part of the Soho House Group, Cecconi’s offers a high end dining experience that reflects the designer brands of the village.

Expect a traditional northern Italian menu of ‘cicchetti’ including the infamous Lobster Spaghetti and wood-fired pizzas served from the more casual Cecconi’s Pizza Bar within the restaurant. There are the signature elements of Cecconi’s design identity, including the stylish tiled floor and famous central bar.  This will be a place where fashionistas and foodies can unite for breakfast, lunch, tea or dinner.

Other exciting new brands to arrive at Bicester Village this season include:

Watchfinder boutique where you can buy, sell and exchange designer watches including Rolex, Cartier, Patek Philippe/

Veuve Cliquot / Moet & Chandon – the village’s very own champagne bus is where you can get a tin of bubbly engraved with a name or destination

#AboutLastNight: Signs of a White Christmas as snow falls in Central London | My Soho Times

Our editor-in-chief, The Soho Girl, shares how a date night in Marylebone turned into capturing a spontaneous ‘White Christmas’ moment, as last night’s snowfall transformed Central London into a winter wonderland…

My Sunday’s are usually very chilled (no pun intended!). By that I mean the only activity that gets me out of the house is a trip to my local gym for an hour, after which the rest of my day would be spent snuggled in bed with a duvet watching movies working leisurely from my laptop. Last night however was slightly different. I accepted a date night at Delamina Kitchen which took me out of Soho (always a nice change), into neighbouring Marylebone village for a medley of Middle Eastern-style sharing plates and drinks.

After our meal and conversations which went beyond a typical 1.5hr / 2hr restaurant sitting, as though on cue, it began to snow as we left to go our separate ways; him heading right further into Marylebone, and me left towards Oxford Street and Soho. Here’s what I captured on my ‘White Christmas’ stroll home…

It dawned on me that had my date not chosen a venue outside of Soho I most likely wouldn’t have experienced this magical moment strolling home in the snow, past the world renowned lights of Regent Street, Oxford Street, and public digital art exhibition W1Curates, into Soho and home where my own winter wonderland awaited…

Silent Night or Sleepless in Soho? A Soho Society Survey of Insomnia | My Soho Times

It’s likely that whoever penned the proverb ‘a good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctor’s book’ didn’t live in Soho, and certainly not nowadays. They would for sure be very short on humour trying to get a good night’s kip hereabouts. Gillian Smith shares more on the results from The Soho Society‘s recent Sleep Survey, and ways to effectively report noise issues.
