My Soho Times joins the Kickstarter Scheme to offer paid creative opportunities to a young unemployed person aged 18-24 years

My Soho Times is a hyper local lifestyle print magazine, events, and digital platform servicing Soho and the West End. We’re proud to announce we’ve joined the GOV the Kickstarter Scheme to offer paid creative opportunities to a young unemployed person in receipt of Universal Credit, age 18-24 years. The ideal applicant should have an interest in or gaining skills in; publishing, journalism or copywriting, content creation, PR and some knowledge of using social media such as Instagram, TikTok and Twitter is beneficial.

This role will also include supporting the Editor-in-Chief with administrative tasks.

The successful individual will will be expected to immerse themselves in various aspects of our platform to receive the full benefits of working within a creative platform.

Training will be given at the start and half way through of this paid 6 month work placement. A can-do attitude and willingness to apply creative skills is essential.

Job summary:

During the 6 months work locations will be across W1 and WC1 at least twice a week (co-working spaces may vary), and other days working from home to complete administrative tasks or assignments. The ideal candidate will be working closely with the editor-in-chief to curate the Summer and Autumn issue of My Soho Times. There’ll be opportunities to contribute articles for print and online.

Hours per week: 25 | 10am to 4pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday plus one weekend day a month may be required for special events.

Hourly wage: Minimum wage

About The Kickstarter Scheme

The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to create new jobs for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long term unemployment.
