London Pride 2014 has come to an end, though as I’m writing this post at after 1am, I can hear a group of party-goers singing their lungs out “That’s amore…” Pride London might be over, but the Pride party in Soho has no indication to end anytime soon.

BlackStars bid farewell to World Cup dreams… Ghana must go
I was rooting for Ghana! Well of course I was – I’m Ghanaian after all.
And I thought the Black Stars played really well, but unfortunately USA’s 2-1 victory and a 0-0 draw against Germany means they’re out after losing to Portugal 2-1 today. I’m still #TeamAfrica as Nigeria and Algeria qualify into the final 16! And it goes without saying, I’m supporting Brazil too (and many of the other Latin American countries – this is what happens when you have friends all over the world!)
The Ghana team seems

24hrs in Milan: Taste Princi
If you had 24hrs in Milan – what would you do? I would eat my favorite Italian… Princi! But if you can’t get to Milan, there’s always Princi in Soho.
If you find yourself in the centre of Milan; sizing architectural wonders such as the Duomo, window shopping through The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, or people watching the fashionistas strut by; be sure to also find your way to Princi – the artisan Milanese bakery.Continue reading “24hrs in Milan: Taste Princi”

With the victory of Costa Rica’s wins, they are no doubt the pride of Central America and I’m reminded of when my Couchsurfer Edith from neighbouring Panama came to stay last October offering to make a Central American favourite – arroz con piña.Continue reading “CSers and me: Arroz con piña”

Brazil Day: at the heart of London
The World Cup is now in full swing, and with the final 16 groups almost confirmed, at this point the Cup could be anyone’s – though unfortunately England is out… But we weren’t to know that when we gathered in Trafalgar Square for a sizzling, samba party in London – a warm welcome to the start of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
London paid tribute to Brazil showcasing diversity of the capital on the 10th of June Continue reading “Brazil Day: at the heart of London”
Soho goes Gay (1955)… Not much has changed then!
A bit of history about Soho including how it got its name. Overall Soho seems to have changed very little – it’s still full of characters!… Even the Waiter’s Race is back this summer! Stay tuned for more on the event taking place on the 13th July 2014.
Pho – Vietnamese street food in Soho
For those days I’m too lazy to reach for the wok – there’s always a guilt-free Pho!
They say too much choice can be a bad thing and in Soho that’s often the case… How do you choose where to eat from all that’s on offer? For those indecisive moments I narrow my choices down to the places that have never failed me… And Pho on Wardour Street is one of them!Continue reading “Pho – Vietnamese street food in Soho”
Fight the D word for mental wellbeing

Depression.
It’s a taboo in many social circles, and unfortunately the only time it’s mentioned in mine is usually in context to the British weather.
But that’s not good enough. Continue reading “Fight the D word for mental wellbeing”
